![]() ![]() ![]() Which roughly translates to " It seems like the orb of darkness Piemon inserted in Gennai is the cause of his current old man-like appearance." Yoo, I just remembered something in the official Digimon Animation book (or whatever it's name was, it had info and art of just about everything up until Savers), there's a sentence on Young Gennai's blurb on page 81 about this! I'm not sure if I should include a picture of the blurb here, but the sentence I'm talking about is the very last one on Young Gennai's blurb: I mean Gennai could be just as ageless as the Digimon were, he did go back to being young after the curse was (presumably) lifted instead of staying or looking old like he probably should be? So who knows, the orb could make regular Digimon old, frail and unable fight too, but this is just speculation. Of course, we can't know if this applies to the 'orb of darkness', for all we know that orb could make Adventureverse Digimon age like they do in Tamers and Frontier. Plushies and dolls appear to be a thing with this clown, freezing his victims in time and keeping them from aging when they've been turned to keychains is probably just a side-effect because yeah, like you said, it's not really useful at all. Piemon's blurb on the next page doesn't mention the orb either ((and while I'm at it, the Official Super Picture Book doesn't mention the orb on Piemon's page either, but that book did claim that those who were turned into keychains by Piemon would stop aging.I don't find Piemon's ability to turn others into keychains that weird because he did refer to those keychains as "dolls" and Bandai's official art of Piemon back in the day did include a blue teddybear (which we don't see in stuff often anymore, same goes for Pie having just one eye with a pupil n ). The quote is the last sentence of the blurb like I said earlier, I haven't read what the rest of the blurb is saying but it doesn't seem to be revelant to this subject (the orb I mean). Not going to give links to where to download the book because last I checked that's not allowed, but here's a picture of the blurb I was talking about. ((Guys, I think this argument might be on the border of being the exact same thing as the previous argument on this same thread so I'd reccomend agreeing to disagree and letting it go, IDK I'm worried this thread could get locked if this continues :x)) Like usually when we get statements like these, even if it does have that room for vagueness, it's probably true since it was brought up. Fortunately for me tho, this bit completely matches my personal headcanons lol )Īs for the "it seems" part, while it does leave room for vagueness and makes retcons easier (.if one was nececary.? IDK), I don't think they'd be bringing up the orb and age thing like this if this wasn't meant to be canon. I mean this is official, licenced material after all, I'd just be careful about not taking everything for granted. Now of course, this quote is from a different book and one that I haven't read, so I don't know if this book has any oddities in it, but yeah, due to official material occassionally having odd information, I'd leave deciding the validity of various statements up for personal interpretation, especially since some indeed don't considder them to be valid at all (if you ask me tho, these materials are still more more valid than our theories. ![]() I just put the disclaimer there simply because sometimes these official books have had information in them that either seemed odd or even contradicted canon to some degree- one example from the top of my head would be the Super Official Picture Book claiming that Vamdemon could teleport. ![]()
